Kirkby Lonsdale's Charter Market takes place from 9am every Thursday, come rain or shine, and has been a regular event in the town's weekly calendar since 1227!

An event that is steeped in tradition, but by no means stuck in the past. Today's market showcases some of Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire's finest, local delicacies and is one of the best ways to purchase some of the freshest produce - from meats, fish and fresh fruit and veg to herbs, flowers and handmade gifts and crafts.

During the Winter months, the Charter Market runs from 9am - 3pm

During the Summer months, the Charter Market runs from 9am - 4pm

A perfect way to spend a hot Summer's afternoon, exploring the market stalls with an ice-cream from one of our favourite shops in town Chocolat in Kirkby Lonsdale, or a chilly Winter's morning with a locally brewed coffee in tow. The Kirkby Lonsdale Charter Market is just another excuse for you to plan a visit!
